Wedding photography is a challenging area for all photographers compared with other types of photography. Wedding photography is not just being able to use a camera proficiently but also to be able to organize a large group of people, to be able to set up natural looking and traditional style poses and also to work within limited timescales as the photography is just one component of the whole wedding experience.
The art of a good wedding photographer is to make this experience seamless. I feel the most important factor for me is to listen to the customer at the pre-wedding meeting and find out exactly what they want from the photography and then tailor the service around their bespoke requirements. Everyone has their own ideas of what they want and at the end of the day the photography must portray this to meet complete satisfaction.
On an average wedding I will normally take in the region of 400 shots, some of which will be duplicates as a contingency plan. Each shot is then checked for colour, crop and rotation and adjusted if necessary. This will guarantee around 300 high quality professional shots which the customer will receive as a proof CD and an on-line gallery shop. This provides an excellent selection for the customer to choose from for the final wedding day album.
